Frosty Zoo Visit

Hello everyone, Well since I last wrote we did go to Aaron's work party and I did not take one picture! Can you beleive it? We were very busy chasing around a certain busy little man. But we had a fabulous time as always. Since then we have just been busy with life. I took off this past Monday because I had an extra day to use so Asher and I had an artic adventure to the zoo! I love to go to the zoo in the winter because

A) no one is there

B) the animals tend to be more active than in the 90 degree summer weather

So we headed out- Asher in his snowsuit and me in my LONG puffy coat. When we arrived there was only one other car in the parking lot, but there were 2 buses unloading. I initially groaned but then I laughed at myself- oh no- two whole buses and one car! How will I ever see the animals! HA HA The first animal we saw was the Tiger and the cool thing was that he kept walking right up to the glass! There were a couple other people there so Asher and I had to wait our turn. I put Asher up right on the window and the tiger walked past and he was fine, but then it turned and came back and rubbed it's face RIGHT ON THE WONDOW ON ASHER"S FACE! Well I thought it was awesome, Asher did not. He turned to me and started crying. I grabbed him up and told him he was fine but he was not convinced. He would not even look at the tiger until he was back in the stroller and we were walking away, he turned and waved bye to the 'kitty'

Here was the moment the tiger rubbed his face right on Ashers

So we moved on to the elephant house. We got to see them in there eating and not doing a whole lot but the baby was cute. Asher was still nervous from the tiger experience so everytime the elephant would lean into the bars and reach out with their trunks Asher would yell "NO NO NO!"

In the monkey house Asher wanted nothing to do with getting up close and personal. All the monkeys were active and curious and almost all of them were right against the windows. The gorillas were really awesome- we got there right at lunch and they were right by the glass but little weinie Asher only wanted to walk right down the middle and wave at all the monkeys. It was funny because if I stopped to watch them he would say "NO!" and start pushing the stroller to get me moving

Then we moved on to the aquarium and I took him out of his snowsuit so he could run around since there were like, 10 people in there. He LOVED it! We had a blast! It was so nice to leisurely walk through and take our time and not be pushed, bumped and have to keep moving. When we went into the penguin room there were only a couple other people in there and they left as we came in and we stayed in there for about 15 minutes and we were ALL ALONE! I loved it so much and the penguins were so active

The empty penguin room- oh yes!

There was a lobster right below Asher and he kept yelling "EW!" (see below video)

OK Mom take your picture

AAUUGHHHH!!! There is a giant fish behind me!!!!!!!

After that we moved on to the polar bears which I love. While we were watching them they kept rolling in the snow and playing with this plastic block. The one bear succeeded in rolling it down the hill then pushed it into the water and jumped on it! Then as I was taping it the other bear jumped in. Well then I put Asher back in the stroller and literally ran down to the underwater tunnel. I was so happy that there was no one there to me see acting like a goober. We went into the tunnel and were alone for about 5 minutes then one guy came in with his daughter. The bears swam for a good 10 minutes before getting out.

We went into the shark tunnel....well...I went into the shark tunnel. Asher stood at the very edge and refused to come and and kept yelling "EEEWWWW" when a shark would swim by. It was so funny! He finally did come in and got worried that a shark was swimming away and kept saying "uh-ohhh" "uh-ohhh" then screamed and acted like one was getting him!
