oopsie

OK ok ok I know. Pathetic. 3 months of no Blog. I really have no excuse. Just being lazy I guess! SOOOOO here we go! This is about to be a VERY long blog. It could possibly be my longest Blog in my Blogging history. SO grab your favorite beverage of choice, slip on some comfy clothes, sit back and prepare yourself to enjoy some of the cutest pictures and laugh at some goofy antics of the little boy known as my son!

OK so since I last blogged WAAAAYYYYY back in September a few things have gone on.

Aaron and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary! Woohoo for us! I must say it is so fabulous to know that we have actually been together for 10 full years and married for 5 of them. We are still going strong, no not every day is full of giggles and sunshine and happy music playing but this is life. You have to take every day and work through. I must say that what I find the hardest is just having such busy lives- mostly working different schedules. Of course it owrks well for watching our child. I always tease Aaron that we can talk again once our kids go to college! hee hee. Sooo we really did not do a whole lot to celebrate but I know we both just felt a deep love and happiness to look back together over the last decade of how we have grown as a couple. Here we are 5 years ago on a most blessed and beautiful day!

OK moving on- Fall came with all of its beautiful glory! We had a very beautiful Autumn here in Pittsburgh, although due to a couple of heavy rains the leaves did fall rather quickly. My family from Ohio came in and we had a really fun FARTY 2010 (Fall + Party = Farty) We had all of the friends that I grew up with come and it is so much fun and it really means a lot to me that we are all still friends, over the last 16 years we all still keep in touch. We have been in each others weddings, we have all had kids, we have been there for each other through good times and bad and I love these rare occasions when we can all get together. We took a picture of the original "gang" then we added spouses (minus 2) and children and it is funny to see how the picture grows! You can see for yourself-

Before the FARTY started I met my family at Schramm Farms so we could get some Fall pics of the kiddos. Getting 3 children to look at a camera is so much fun! HA HA! But they are so cute any picture is a good one!We had a lot of fun and the kids thought it was a blast! Asher even did a pony ride which REALLY surprised me and then he even wanted to go back on! He is getting so big! As you can see....

And so the Fall season continued to march on and on November 8th the Schilke family welcomed the newest addition to our family! little miss Eden Schilke! She came a few days before her due date much to Mommy's happiness. She was born a 9 pound 6 ounce healthy little sweetheart! This is the first girl born into the Schilke family in over 60 years! Levi - who is growing into quite the little boy was very excited to become a big brother and has been taking the job seriously! Here are some pictures of our little cutie~

Fresh to the world

Levi was hanging with his Aunt waiting for the arrival of his sister

A few weeks after Eden joined the family Thanksgiving rolled around. I do not have any pictures from Thanksgiving but it was a pleasant day. Asher had a slight temperature and was not 100% plus we had a busy day going to 3 different houses to visit as much family as possible, but overall it was very nice! We ate a lot of food and Asher loved his mashed taters and couldnot get enough cranberry sauce!

Next came our family Hannukah party. Hannukah did not actually start until
December 2nd but since all of the family could be here the weekend after Thankgiving we had our party then. We had a great time, I love Hannukah as that is what I grew up celebrating and I really look forward to our time together. Here are a few pics from our celebration

We had a really nice time other than the fact that the day after the party Asher got Croup which he then so kindly shared with his cousins....and me...and my Mother in law. But at least he shared right?

I also had my 28th birthday on December 1st on which I was very blessed by all of my friends and family! Only 2 more years in my twenties! I better enjoy every minute before I get too old- ha ha just kidding!

The only other new and fun thing is the snow! We have only had a couple of small dustings but Asher thinks the snow is quite amazing! The first morning it snowed I went into his room to get him and as soon as I walked in he yelled and was hanging over the end of his crib pointing out the window. Now our typical morning consists of him and I snuggling on the couch and watching Curious George but not when it snows! As soon as we came down the stairs he wanted down ASAP and ran to the back door to look at the snow and he wanted to go out so bad so I figured what the heck?! SO with the rest of the house still asleep I bundled the 2 of us up - right over our jammies and we headed out for some winter fun! He just loves the snow and we even went out the other night and he just had so much fun that he cried when I made him come in! I am looking forward to when we get enough to go sled riding and build snowmen! Here are a couple of pics from our snow adventures

Now as you can see my little baby boy is quickly becoming my little man! He is growing not only in size but also in attitude, in speech and just all over. He is staring to say A LOT more. He says a lot of words, Da-da, Chaia (yes, he calls me Chaia) Grammy, Pap-Pap, Aric, Banana, tookie (cookie), ice keem, Juice, Georgie (Curious George, Caidoo (Caillou- it is a kids show), Bubbles....the list goes on. He is also starting to put words together. I was outside decorating with him and he kicked a box off the steps and when I said "Asher!" he looked at me and said "it fell down." I was cracking up! Another time I handed him his cup and he looked at Aaron and informed him "I like Juice".

I am also realizing that he understands more than I know. One day he found a box of crayons while I was cooking breakfast. He was being good with them until I turned around to see him writing on the wall. So I went over and he was soooo proud that I almost wanted to let him keep going. But I took the crayon and I told him NO and I explained that we DO NOT draw on the walls. Well, my 18 month old scrunched those eye brows together and marched across the room and pointed on the wall to the mark that Mommy and Daddy had DRAWN ON THE WALL when we measured him and he stuck his little finger right on the mark and told me! Oops. I told him that fell under the do as I say not as I do rule. It took a lot not to laugh but he caught me with that one!

The second hysterical thing he just did to me was the other night. We do our nightly prayers and he usually plays in his crib until the last 2 things we say then he lays down, I cover him up and leave the room. Well this was when he still had Croup so he layed down right away. So I am rubbing his back and praying and he is facing me sucking his thumb. I was saying a few extra prayers since he was sick but I must have gotten carried away because in the middle of my prayer he picks up his head and goes "AMEN" then turns his head away from me and goes back to sucking his thumb!!!
I could barely keep from busting up lauging! I was shushed during my long winded prayer!

Asher is truly the joy of our lives and he constantly keeps us on our toes and laughing! I love every minute of being with him and watching him grow and learn.

SO. I think that finally catches us up. We have all been busy with the holiday preparations and we have Aaron's work party this week- it is something we all look forward to because his company throws such a fun party and it is family oriented which I really appreciate. So I will try to not take so long to post pictures from that.

So until then.....
