Well being a mommy is sooo incredible! I have been extremely overwhelmed by everything- my body changing, the hormones, this little man that is now completely dependant on Aaron and I...but above all I am overwhelmed with my emotions for this little baby that has only been here for 6 days! Every day is getting a little easier and I just adore taking care of him! I have just been trying to catch up on my sleep and finally today feel like a human again!
Asher is just simply wonderful! The only thing we are working on is that he has his nights and days mixed up and will sleep 3-4 hours during the day and then is up every 1-2 wanting to be up at night. But he is an expert at breastfeeding!!! I was so worried about that because I so badly wanted to breastfeed but by Sat. afternoon in the hospital he had it down pat and latches on immediately and nurses on both sides- now we are up to about 12-13 minutes on each side and he is just great! His circumcision is healing really well and he is just a doll. The only time he cries is when he wakes up and is ready for a human to get him, when he is naked or getting a diaper change and that is more of a pathetic whimper and if he has gas. Otherwise he is perfectly content to just sit and stare at you and take it all in. He responds to voices and turns his head to them, he LOVES when his Uncle Aric plays the guitar and he is my sweetheart!!! He has a check up in the morning- just a follow up to be sure he has not lost too much weight etc. But the way he eats I don't see how that is possible.
Here are a few pics of him...
even though he was 8lbs 7 ounces, he is super skinny- just long at 22 inches
And he has these really really really skinny chicken legs that he LOVES to stretch out
curled up on mommy
Eating is hard work....

Wide eyes...
So he is starting to make his "I am waking up" squeaks so I am going to go but I will try to update again soon!!!
Congratulations Chaia and Aaron!!!! Asher is truly a beautiful baby!!! I couldn't be more thrilled for you. God has truly blessed you.
